A Letter From The President

My name is Julianne Meiu and I am humbled and honored to serve as the president of the Phi Sigma Chapter. Alpha Epsilon Phi is a group of strong, talented, unique women dedicated to friendship and service to others.

Although our common goal of developing strong bonds of sisterhood unites us together, each of our sisters is unique in her own way. Our members come from Atlantic to Pacific and we each have our own diverse backgrounds and interests. Similarly, our sisters study a diverse range of topics, and are involved in a variety of sports, clubs, and volunteer organizations.

Although we each have our own interests, our sisters enjoy a multitude of annual activities we do as a group. Some of these activities include our summer retreat in Ann Arbor, alumni picnic at Belle Isle, crush party in the winter semester, apple picking with our alumni in the fall, tigers game with our families, and our end of the year formal!

Another thing AEPhi prides ourselves on is our ongoing dedication to our two philanthropies; Sharsheret and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation. This year we are hosting our first ever Powderpuff football tournament benefiting Sharsheret! We have also been nationally recognized for our annual silent auction. Our 15th annual silent auction raised over $18,000 for mothers and children affected by HIV/AIDS. We hosted the formal event at the San Marino Club in Troy, and featured lots of great prizes to bid on such as a Gibson Guitar, an HDTV and a trip to Cancun! Our guests had a great time dancing the night away, getting their pictures taken, eating the delicious food, and participating in our raffles!

Watching our chapter grow over this past semester has been the most rewarding experience of my lifetime, and I can’t wait to see what next semester brings!
